Privacy Policy

Short version: Spana has no accounts, no tracking and no ads. What you do in the app stays on your own computer. Here are the details.

The app

Spana stores everything it needs in a folder on your PC (%AppData%\Spana). That includes:

  • your IPTV provider details, such as server address, username and password
  • your settings, favourites and what you have watched, which is used for suggestions
  • a cache of channel lists, program guides and images

None of this is sent to us, and the app has no analytics. The one exception is match data, described below.

Services the app connects to

The app connects directly from your computer to:

  • your IPTV provider, to fetch channels, program guides and streams
  • public program guide sources (epgshare01, i.mjh.nz and iptv-epg.org) when your provider has no guide
  • your TV on the local network, when you cast to it

Match data is different. To show match times, scores, match images, club crests and channel logos, the app asks our own API at spana.tv, which fetches the data from public sports and TV guide services on your behalf and caches the answers. Those services therefore see requests from our server instead of from your computer. Which services are used may change over time.

When the app asks our API we see your IP address and what you ask for, such as a date or a team name. We keep only short-lived technical logs for security and to keep the service working, we do not build profiles, and there is no login. Match data can be switched off under Settings, Match data, and the app then works from your provider's guide alone.

This website

spana.tv does not use cookies, analytics or tracking. The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. Our server keeps short-lived technical logs for the same reason.

Your rights

Since the app keeps your data on your own PC, you are in control of it: uninstall Spana and delete the %AppData%\Spana folder to remove everything. Under the GDPR you also have the right to ask what data we hold about you and to have it deleted. In practice we hold none, but you are welcome to ask.
